Master the Mid-Strolling Technique For Bass
This technique out of Japan has proven to be one of the most effective for bass
Mid-strolling, hover strolling, strolling and jig-minnowing are all just ways to describe the technique of using specialized jigheads and custom minnow soft jerkbait with a shaking rod retrieve to make the bait wobble and roll side to side as you swim it along.
It’s a very natural action that bass, crappie, stripers, white bass, walleyes and more believe are live fish. I think it very closely resembles a nervous baitfish in the water. And with the advent of forward facing live sonar, it has become one of the most prevalent techniques in bass fishing this year.
As someone who has been doing it for a few years, and who wrote about it last year, I wanted to share some of my own personal insight as well as from others who have really honed this technique as to what makes it work and how to maximize your potential with it.
